The QS I-GAUGE @igaugerating Institution of Happiness initiative is designed to measure and promote happiness levels within educational institutions across India, making student and faculty well-being a central focus. With over 160,000 student and 20,000 faculty survey responses gathered, the initiative offers valuable insights into the well-being of academic communities.

On 14th November 2024, Commodore HG Harsha, Chairman of SSRVM Trust, delivered a brilliant talk at the QS I∙GAUGE 'Institution of Happiness' Conclave, India's premier event dedicated to mental health and well-being in education. 
In a captivating panel discussion on Balancing the Risks and Rewards of Social Media and Technology for Student Mental Health, Commodore HG Harsha shed light on the pressing issue of mental health in the present educational landscape – the challenge of attention deficiency and how our children navigate between aggression and depression, stressing the need for proactive mental health strategies and the importance of guiding our youth toward mindful digital habits, helping them harness social media responsibly, and fostering a sense of balance and self-awareness in the digital age.

Interactive session on 'Holistic Health Pathways'

The "Building Climate Warriors for a Sustainable Future" workshop, held at the prestigious Dosti House, BKC, was a resounding success, leaving an indelible mark on the forty bright minds of 8th grade who had the privilege to attend. This transformative workshop aimed to instill in attendees a profound understanding of the dire consequences of climate change, its far-reaching impacts across various sectors, and shed light on groundbreaking initiatives forged through India-US collaboration to combat this global crisis.

Set against the backdrop of the magnificent Dosti House library, the workshop commenced with an awe-inspiring presentation by none other than Dr. Megha Bhatt, the esteemed founder of SciKnowTech and a distinguished Scientist at ISRO. Dr. Bhatt masterfully elucidated the urgency of our environmental predicament, compelling each student to recognize their role as stewards of our precious planet. Through an engaging online session, Dr. Bhatt patiently addressed students' queries, further enriching their understanding of climate change and its complexities.

The workshop's pièce de résistance was the hands-on activity wherein students meticulously crafted a functioning solar panel model using a specially curated kit. With guidance from dedicated staff and aided by an insightful instructional video, students embarked on a journey of discovery, witnessing firsthand the power of renewable energy and its potential to mitigate climate change.

As the workshop drew to a close, Ms. Aditi eloquently outlined the myriad opportunities for advanced education in the United States, inspiring students to pursue higher learning paths dedicated to environmental stewardship.

In retrospect, the workshop served as a catalyst for igniting a collective sense of responsibility among participants, empowering them with the knowledge and tools needed to champion the cause of sustainability. It was a truly interactive, enlightening, and unforgettable experience that underscored the importance of embracing a climate warrior ethos for the betterment of future generations and the preservation of our cherished planet. The impact of this workshop, if disseminated widely, holds the promise of ushering in a brighter, greener future for all.
